Cuboid Self-Storage Rapidly Expands

Huge growth underway in response to growing demand for self-storage units in the UK.

Cuboid Self-Storage is significantly expanding, increasing both the number of containers and locations across the UK by 216% as demand for self storage rises across the UK.

Launched in 2022, Cuboid Self-Storage is more than quadrupling by adding 13 new sites, taking the collection to a total of 19 strategic locations nationwide.

The growth comes amidst increased demand for self storage nationally driven by the high cost of housing, with the UKโ€™s self storage industry set to exceed ยฃ1bn this year.

A study carried out by the Self Storage Association UK claims more than 55m sq ft of storage is currently in use in the UK, with families turning to storage units when unable to upsize their home.

The recent popularity of TV shows including Stacey Solomonโ€™s Sort Your Life Out and Nick Knowlesโ€™ Big House Clearout is also driving businesses and households towards self-storage as part of efforts to declutter homes and offices.

A spokesperson for Cuboid commented: โ€œWe started to expand Cuboid in June 2022 and now our six current sites are fully let. Weโ€™re seeing increasing numbers of enquiries for both private and commercial use. The growth in online retail is driving both – with requirements from retailers who want to store their products, and the consumers who buy them but donโ€™t have room at home.

โ€œCustomers tell us they are drawn by simple payment processes plus easy yet secure access so weโ€™re pleased to be growing our sites and quadrupling the number of units in the coming weeks and months.โ€

Cuboid Self Storage containers are 1200 cubic feet in size and accommodate approximately 240 medium-sized boxes.

We work in partnership with Cuboid Self-Storage to ensure all units are situated close to local communities or highly-commutable industrial estates to make the process as convenient as possible.

Tim Knowles, Managing Director of FI Real Estate Management, added: โ€œThe demand for self-storage in the UK is growing, exacerbated by the growth of e-commerce, lack of residential floorspace and unabating consumerism.

โ€œOur partnership with Cuboid is part of a strategic plan to enhance our nationwide network of property assets by providing easily accessible, secure and flexible storage solutions. Weโ€™re pleased to see the business expanding its presence across so many of our sites.โ€
